Getting started
Claim an account
Anonymous sessions are the fastest way in: one HTTP call (or one MCP connection) mints a sandbox project with no signup. Claiming binds that session to a real mailnix account so the work survives and the account's resources become reachable.
Why claim
| Anonymous | Claimed | |
|---|---|---|
| Lifetime | 7 days of inactivity, then auto-delete | Permanent |
| Sends | 100/day, sandbox capture | Your plan's quota, real relaying |
| Resources | The session's own sandbox | Your forms, destinations, templates, domains |
| Dashboard | Not visible | Visible under Integrations |
The flow from an AI session
- The agent calls
account_statusto learn which kind of session it has. If it already showsstatus=claimed, stop: the session was approved by a signed-in browser and is already bound. - The agent calls
account_claim(email)with your account email. - mailnix emails you a magic link. Click it while signed in to app.mailnix.ch.
- The agent polls
account_statusuntilclaim_progress.claimedflips to true, typically well under a minute. Same project, same history, now attached to your account.
If you are signed in to the dashboard, pending claims for your email also appear on the Integrations page with a one-click Attach button, so you do not need to open your inbox.
The flow from the consent page
When your MCP client opens the mailnix consent page and you are already signed in, choose Approve as your account and the session starts account-bound. No claim step needed; account_claim is a no-op on such sessions.
After claiming
The session keeps its project binding. Everything the agent created before the claim (traces, sandbox messages, forms) stays reachable, and the account's other resources become listable through the same tools.
